  • Success story IDB Marine-Terre de Lin

    • The working process with IDB Marine started 3 years ago. This led to the design and production of large boat series from 6.50 m to 9 m whose hull is entirely made of flax fiber composite.

      Flax fiber came to replace the fiberglass usually used in boating. Flax fiber brought a competitive technical and economic compromise compared to fiberglass

    1. Salomon - Skis

    

    The partnership with Salomon ski manufacturer has begun 5 years ago. It took 3 years of development from a standard reinforcement to obtain an specific unidirectional 0° in flax and carbon blend.

    Salomon was looking for a material combining rigidty/vibration mode/ligthness. Now our reinforcement is uses into 11 models of free ride and cross-country pairs of skis. The annual production is 15 000 pairs.

     

    2. Focal - Loudspeakers

    

    The development of the specific flax reinforcement composites for Focal took 2 years. It is an unidirectional 90° in 100% flax fibers.

    For Focal, vibration mode, fineness and lightness are the essential criterias.

    The production represents 200 000 lowspeakers per year.

     

     

     

    3. Editions St Luc - Furniture

    

    Since 2006, we collaborate éditions St Luc . At that time, none flax fibers composites was developped. The problematic of the furniture editor was to find a natural material. The flax fibers composite reinforcement uses is a bi-axial 100% flax fibers.

    Relisations by known designers are numerous :  François Azambourg chair, Jean-Marie Massaud armchair, Noé Duchaufour table, Joran Briand stool.

     

    4. Egide - Bike helmet

    

    In 2014, Egide start the conception of a bike helmet. The material should have a good shocks absorption and get a design aspect.

    Our solution of bi-axial flax fibers composite reinforcement answeerd to theirs needs, bringing in addition ligthness.

     

     

     

    5. In'Bô - Bike/Skateboard

    

    In'Bô has developped a bike using flax slivers and a skateboard integrating an unidirectional flax fibers composite reinforcement.

    Since 2006 az&mut engineers and produce in France a collection of objects that enhances local materials and know-how.

    The pôle IAR and its members are engaged in technologies and products development that substitute petrol origin materials to materials made from agro-ressources.
